Put your paper on your own domain

Out of the box your paper is read at your-desk.newsroomfloor.com. To read it at your own address, like news.acme.com, you add one DNS record and we handle the certificate.

The steps

  1. In your desk settings, add your domain (for example news.acme.com) under reader domains.
  2. At your DNS provider, add one record: a CNAME from news.acme.com to the target we show you in settings. This is your only manual step.
  3. We create the certificate for your domain and turn the paper on there once it is ready. You do not give us access to your DNS account; you only add the one CNAME.
  4. In your desk settings, set your primary domain to this address. Every page then points readers and search engines at the one address, so a paper read at both your subdomain and your own domain does not split its search ranking. Your built-in subdomain keeps working, so no link ever breaks.

Good to know

Automatic certificate provisioning is rolling out. Until it reaches your desk, add your domain here and write to support@drm3.io and we turn it on for you.
