KR1 plc, the London-listed onchain infrastructure company, announced on 29 October 2026 it has acquired approximately 5,000 TAO and launched staking operations on the Bittensor network.

The firm cited growing global demand for AI compute, data and intelligence as the core thesis for the investment. KR1 stated there is no mandatory unbonding period for unstaking TAO on the network, a feature the company said gives it flexibility to manage its position.

Bittensor data shows four separate subnets reached 256 active neurons as of 30 October 2026. Small price and market cap shifts were recorded across other live subnets over the same day.

This institutional entry arrived the same week multiple subnets hit full neuron capacity. No link between the two events is confirmed in the available record.
